Famished?
I get so famished even though I've eaten a full meal. No matter what I eat, I'm still hungry. I drink plenty of water and eat what I normally eat (healthy stuff, not junk). Not pregnant or any other health problems.
It's just that I can't get rid of this hunger. It's usually for 1-3 days in a month or maybe longer (I haven't really kept track of when it happens)...but it's been like this for quite sometime. Anyone else get this? I know some who get really hungry after a full meal too...wonder why that is. Last edited by lollipop; 01-25-2008 at 10:00 AM. |

Honey, it's your period. About a week before mine, I get so hungry I start gnawing on my desk (kidding - sorta). I just feel absolutely ravenous for a few days and no amount of food will sate it. It's hormones I guess. I've heard lots of women talk about this.

It might be your body trying to tell you something. Asking for a particular kind of food, maybe? Or maybe your body needs more food to cure an illness? Or the 'stop-eating' switch isn't working?

y'all must've guessed that I will chime in on this one.
I paid way big money to learn this so please pay attention. Your body has two chemicals to send into your blood stream to signal "hunger". One is for sugar. One is for fat. It does not have one for protien. If you, in particular, are good at knowing when YOU, in particular, want protien then you were probably raised in a home with very good food. This is, still, called 'anecdotal evidence' and has nothing to do with the rest of people. When you eat sugar or fat and you are still hungry, your body needs protien. My compliments to Chambers92. You are one of the few... If you think that I am wrong, all I am telling you to do is have a decent serving of protien so I am, clearly, not sending you into danger. "How much is a decent serving?" I hear you ask on the psychic channel. One whole chicken breast... similar size of beef, fish or pork. ...four yogurts, yes. FOUR. Protien bars are another great choice. PS. protien does not breakdown well. It needs to be consumed with vitamin "C". Have orange juice with your meat or tomatoes or lemon or -even - a vitamin "C" pill. OJ, banana and protien bar are great and easy to get. READ THE LABEL. You'll want a protien bar with 30 grams. PPS. DO NOT eat more protien than this at a time. Too much protien IS poisonous |

I think Teri is right. I didn't read her reply properly...she said a week before her period she gets the same way. The constant hunger is gone now for the most part

I was going to suggest the period thing as well.
I didn't take the time to read your thread about dating, but I will say that the day after my GF and I tear off a piece, I can't stop eating! I'm not even a little overweight, but on those days, I just can't seem to satisfy my hunger. So...although I didn't read your other thread, I'm speculating about the changes in your "physical activity"
