Sleep Apnea

I had been having a problem, waking up in the middle of the night choking, suffocating. I would collapse while standing up and if I did fall asleep while the TV was on I would remember the shows during the night. I thought that I was dying. In 2006 it was diagnosed as being Sleep Apnea, my blood oxygen levels dropped to around 50%, the technician said that my case was the worst he had seen.

I was provided with a CPAP machine, once I was used to it, it was cool, sleep - out like a light, no more surrealistic sleep episodes...

Ran across the following article the other day, Brain Connections Strongest During Waking Hours, figured that I would share my experiences and the article.

They diagnosed my ex-brother in-law with it and did surgery only to find out it was not sleep apnea but a totally different problem. Now he can't fly in the Air Force, but works for Delta. They ruined his military career. Be careful and make them do all other tests to be sure.

The hands may then be still.

With the CPAP machine the problem went away, mine is apnea. What was your in-law's problem ?

When I was in jail, the other inmates complained about my snoring, I said tough. Girlfriend complained about it also, we sleep separately now. Apparently I scared people even in my sleep.

I would fall asleep at work, couldnt control it, almost fell asleep driving a couple of times. One time I fell asleep and nearly fell into a glass pane. What was cool was as one collapsed waking up before hitting the ground and catching ones self.....
