You need some of that Vicks VapoRub medecine, like a cream type formula. Melt a teaspoon into some boiling water and sit over it with a towel over your head.

Also, do you have any of these to unblock your nasal passages if they are blocked. I got some last week and they really helped me get to sleep ?...

(I expect neither of these things are at all helpful, sorry lol. Hope you get better soon though )

when it comes to the flu many times the best thing to do is just ride it out. You could also take some chicken soup and put as much pepper or jaupiono (shit my spelling) juice and put it in the soup and drink orange juice and cranberry juice. If you have any hard booze put it in the juice and it will help kill the flu virus and keep the cold symptoms that come after the flu calm down. Do the vicks as well. Get well soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And stay in bed.

Hi Teri. So sorry to hear about your case of the flu. Poor baby.

I can't take decongestants either, but I can take the regular Mucinex. It really works, and will help your congestion in the head and lungs clear out. Also, get some saline nasal spray. Use it frequently, it has nothing in it but saline solution and will keep your nasal passages from drying out. Also relieves the congestion.

Monitor the color of the junk that comes out. If it's green, give your doctor a call, as you will need an antibiotic.

Drink plenty of fluids, OJ, chicken noodle soup, Seven-up, Diet Coke, whatever you can tolerate. Make sure the drinks are well iced, and sip them as much as possible. With a fever and vomiting, you need to keep hydrated. I would also take Advil or something similar for the body aches and fever.

I hope you feel better soon, so take care of yourself. >>HUG<<

Thanks folks. I'm going to try the chicken soup right now, since I have some. And ask my doctor about the Musinex. I've heard that's good. I wish I had some of that other stuff, cause I'm too sick to go out to the store.

I can't take decongestants either.

Try some eucalyptus (sp) oil in the shower. Or you can just pour some in the shower while you sit in the bathroom and breath in the steam.

Hope you feel better soon.

Thanks Chambers. I think I've heard of that. Where can you buy it?

I buy it at a local health food store. You should also be able find it at a GNC or Whole Foods.

It's pretty strong stuff, you only need to use a few drops at a time.

Cool! I'll look for it. I was just about to take long steamy bath to see if it helps. I've never gotten so sick so fast . . . and I got a flu shot, damn it.
