manuka honey
tonight on marketplace they did a segment on this product and its healing properties so i wanted to do a bit of research on it...it's very interesting, several physicians are now starting to use it for all kinds of wound care and digestive care, including ulcers given its beneficial properties...
too much info to copy and paste it's all very interesting

Yes, it is interesting.
Living in the mountains, I am blessed with the ability to get great local honey. Although it is not Manuka, it is some of the best honey I've had. I haven't used sugar in decades, and use honey to sweeten my applesauce, herb teas, and really anything that I choose to use sweetener in. There is an 80 year old gentleman that keeps bees, and for years he has been saying that he puts honey on his cuts. Now I know why. Although I don't usually care to sweeten most foods, or beverages, I use the honey for its health benefits. This time of year, I'm (hopefully) on the ice a lot, and I bring a thermos with a blend of herb teas, and a lot of honey. I prefer the darker honey, usually from buckwheat around here. I never knew that the type of flower could affect the healing properties, though.
