If we continue using marijuana, over the course of 10,000 years, we will form something like a symbiosis. It is likely all side-effects will be gone and the substance will be a useful tool.

If you had a time-machine, and you used it to give knives to cave-people, the cave-people probably would injure themselves and others. But today, we mostly use knives for the useful tools they are.

The only real danger widespread legal marijuana use represents, is the danger to PROFIT.

Profit of big pharmaceutical companies, profit of petroleum industry, profit of law enforcement and prison industires, profit of alcohol and tobacco companies,...etc.

...and those corporate interests pay politicians VERY VERY well to keep that horrible danger in check, at the expense of truth, and at the expense of the health and happiness of the American people.

If only someone could devise a way to make helping people as profitable as criminalizing them.
