What was even funnier was that my girlfriend had to hitchhike ten miles home from the police station, suffering from a reaction to medication for anxiety.

Apparently an elderly couple and a woman with her daughter had tried to intervene and were threatened by the police.

Manassas is such a cool city of Virginia.....

Figure that it is too late to get the video January 2005, but I can tell the story.

Dude, go get that tape or get another representation to get that tape for you.

Don't ask me how I feel about lawyers.

They buried the video and the witnesses. In addition I cannot appeal at this time, the "deal" was only two weeks so I learned and survived. Just glad that judge went with the prosecutors "deal", I would still be in jail based on what they were saying and they did not hear any evidence except a police report that I believe the video would have refuted.

My experience is a warning, when they incarcerated us witnesses vanished - the police made no note and we were not there. They separated the charges so that one judge did not hear the context of the case. The attorneys strategy was to take our money and process us. The Newspapers strategy was to paint us as criminals and identify where we lived before the trial. The judge was so on the police's side that they did not even hear the case before arguing with the prosecutor.

We live in a police state now - do not get caught alone with the cops, do not challenge the cops unless you have a lot of witnesses. Make sure that your witnesses are impartial, else they will claim bias. Of course once you have it perfect they will claim that it was a set up.....

What I liked was about a year after the incident a neighbor commented that they thought that I was a criminal. I assume that it was from the Potomac News posting our names and addresses. I was denied work release based on a claim that I am a "threat to society".

This provides me with great amusement because regardless of what anyone says I do know what happened. The separation of charges, the laughter from the cops, the Potomac News, the Judge and the damn attorneys......

I am past my little problem, you all have to live with the implications of what I say. "Law", "due process", "rights" - a farce - money buys a little....
