American media: Busharraf is now a moderate..WTF?????

Classic example of the how the american media (corporate owned & operated) tote the company line to the american sheeppl..........

This is really a shame, & the sad thing is it goes on everyday. All day.... Our minds/views are continuously & yet subtly persuaded ....

This MF is a general that took over the country... Declared Marshall law, imprisoned political foes, the judiciary etc.... & yet we come to find out he is the moderate here........lol

US reiterates importance of moderate forces working together for Pakistan future and democracy

WASHINGTON, Nov 16 (APP): As Deputy Secretary of State John Negroponte began his visit to Pakistan on Friday, the United States reiterated the importance of moderate forces in Pakistan working together for a return to democratic pathway but made it clear that it is for Pakistani people to choose their (the right leaders) leaders and that the US only expresses its views in the vein of friendship.

“We have tried very hard to stay out of Pakistani domestic politics. Now, I will say that we have expressed our views, which we believe are consistent with our national interest, and we have expressed our views in the vein of friendship and in the vein of counsel to a good friend,” State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said During his two-day visit Negroponte will meet President Pervez Musharraf and other Pakistani leaders in Islamabad. The US has been encouraging President Musharraf to return to democratic rule and has welcomed as positive his announcements to hold elections in early January as well as shed his military uniform.

On Friday, Negroponte reaffirmed the importance of political forces working together during a telephonic conversation with PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

However, McCormack emphasized “whatever decisions Pakistan makes regarding its future, whatever decisions Pakistan’s leaders make regarding Pakistan’s future course, those are going to be for the Pakistani people to make and the Pakistani people alone.” (same line they used before them dumbass Palestinians screwed up & voted the wrong way)

The spokesman was speaking after President Musharraf administered oath to a caretaker prime minister and members of the new cabinet in Islamabad as an important step towards holding elections slated for early January 2008.

McCormack was echoing Washington’s position on political forces in Pakistan working together to get the country back on the path of democracy following the state of emergency proclaimed early this month.

The US Deputy Secretary of State resonated the message on the eve of his visit on Thursday. “Our message is that we want to work with the government and people of Pakistan and the political actors in Pakistan to put the political process back on track as soon as possible,” Negroponte said in Mali at the conclusion of a diplomatic tour of Africa. Since declaration of emergency rule early this month, the United States has vowed long-term relationship with the South Asian country and pledged to help it get back on the path of democracy.
