Wounded Soldier: Military Wants Part Of Bonus Back

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) ―

The U.S. Military is demanding that thousands of wounded service personnel give back signing bonuses because they are unable to serve out their commitments.

To get people to sign up, the military gives enlistment bonuses up to $30,000 in some cases.

Now men and women who have lost arms, legs, eyesight, hearing and can no longer serve are being ordered to pay some of that money back.

How insane is this administration? Makes me want to start a march on DC to protest Congress not voting for impeachment.

Well, they do get other benefits for their injuries.

That capitation can be pretty important.

I'd say, pay up.

By the way, there are MSNBC folks around. Say hi. Come on, don't be rude.

What benefits? Are you crazy? What MSNBC folks are you refering to? I watch all the news channels to see what other news views are.

They get treatment for the injuries, for life. I'm sure there are other assistances and aid.

$30K contract should go back when performance is not possible.

You're sure there is other assistance, but you don't know? Taking the money back is sick. These kids are ruined for life and we want to put them in debt. I am sure most of that money is gone, what are they going to do put liens on their houses, ruin their credit for serving their country when they are disabled, and unable to get a job???? This is incredible.

You serve, you get to keep what you've already got paid.

You don't, you don't get to keep what you've already got paid.

What the???

You're too emotional. The troops. The troops. The troops.

What about the basic contractual agreements?

What do we just toss them out of the window just because they are soldiers?

How about the serving the country through contractual agreements?
Going to war and getting wounded should by definition mean you served. Signing bonus's are to get you in the door. Straight business no emotion they should have paid that 30k out in 4 installments over the term of the service. Since they did not and gave the money up front they should be out of luck. Nice way to thank our troops for losing limbs ( more emotion) !!
Everyone should be emotional about this because it is a travesty. I have no one on the front lines and I am disgusted!!

30K all up front just to get signed up? Fuck, I'd load myself up with disability and life insurances with that money and really be all I can be, then have a paid second education plus veteran benefits and chances to earn security clearances for future cushy jobs.

Where do I sign up?
