80mph? Sounds like hurricane party weather.

About 80% of the people I work with are under mandatory evacuation. It's crazy I've got one fire about 10 miles east another 15 miles to the south and another about 8 miles to the south west in my little shit town. There is an evacuation center just of couple hundred yards from me, so I think I'm relatively safe. Some of the reports are saying that one of the fire areas the fire is moving at 40 miles an hour it's completely insane. It's windy as all hell here right now.

It is like a hurricane from hell.

I heard sound on one of the videos today; it's terrifying.

The night pics look almost like a volcano and
something straight from the underworld.

Jesus Serum! That's terrifying! The wind can shift and . . . I don't like to think about it. Why don't you just get out of there now?!?

I just got home from work in Carlsbad where we were under a voluntary evacuation and everything was fine. I've been concerned. But I think everything will be ok. But knowing the area so well and the magnitude I'm telling you it's mind boggleing. Here's a link to a local station.

These pictures were taken at about four in the afternoon one to the south were the fires were burning and one to the north. My eyes were burning after 10 minutes of being outside. At this time we were under a voluntary evacuation. As it looks there was no danger. The fire fighters are working 24 hour shifts and the city has a reverse 911 call out. It really seems like the city is doing as well as they can under the circumstances. Dreading the phone ringing with an autamated mandatory evacuation notice.

OMG! This has to be scary as hell though. Wouldn't you like to take a little vacation? Get away for a while and breath some fresh air?

I just got back from vacation a couple of weeks ago I would settle for a good nights sleep. Between the winds blowing shit around and the fire truck sirens every 10 minutes these fires are really begining to piss me off.

Stay safe. I know those winds can change direction pretty quickly so it's hard to know where the fires are going to end up.

I used to live in Southern Cal and never remember any fires being as bad as this.

Thanks, chambers glad you were able to make it over here. I'm pretty fortunate to be where I'm at. Fires all around the santa anas should continue to blow to the west which will keep me safe but unfortunately many people I work with may not be so lucky. When I was working last night a family I work with had to evacuate Fallbrook and move into the customer lounge thats got to be scary. Highway 15 was shut down last night for about a forty mile stretch from temecula past miramar it's unbelievable.
