Passive styles may be adequate for primaries, but for the general election, he will have to adopt an aggressive, brutal posture. Republicans, Democrats and Independents alike will see it as a sign of strength. Tai Chi is Real Estate for the weak. Ted Kennedy made it very clear that the torch has been passed. The Sensei has made the student the Master. Obama can't just perform a kata or two and expect to dazzle us with his style any more. Now we crave truth, substance and results.

The "more thing" is actually "attachment" and it can be to physical things, sex, even the desire for immortality.. We need to understand that we are a small part of the One of the universe, which does not diminish us, but should give us a sanguine happiness that WE ARE A PART of the whole. When we can let go of our mundane ambitions, and our grasping of temporal pleasures, we are on the road to Enlightenment. Om Mani Padme Hum

We hope, we practice.

'More' is a whole OTHER ballgame...at which, I have observed, Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers NEVER play at half-time. Quote:

I am put in mind of a bittersweet movie entitled Mrs. Palfrey at The Claremont. Rather than move in with her patronizing daughter, a widow played by Joan Plowright moves into a modest residence hotel in London populated, predictably, by a theatrical group of Oddballs That Grow On You. As well, she forms a friendship with a young artiste who comes to her aid when she takes the old lady fall that old ladies dread. Owing to the "unseemly" age difference, she passes him off as her grandson to the hotel community, and to her daughter not at all. The young man takes a lover...unsettling enough...and falls in love with her, to boot. The widow is oddly tormented but, owing to that tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive, she can unburden herself with no one. I forget whether it was the new and lovely young girlfriend or a random Young & Lovely with whom the widow speaks, with a great deal of beating around the bush, whereupon Young, Lovely & Groovy spouts some Eastern-y Type Stuff that resonates with the widow. She is interested and willing and open-minded...except for the chanting, she quickly clarifies. That's sorta how I feel. Nom Myoho Renge Kyo.
