For once, i agree with Mike D Oil is only a necessity because you make it to be. It's a convenient tech. Don't like the price? buy a horse. Mongols conquered the world with those, why can't you?

Do you know what canned goods costs when delivered thru mule trains? Can you imagine the droppings on major high-ways? Have you tried the new wooden hip replacement? You can functionally live without ever having to buy oil or gas. It will not be a conveinent life, but neither is one devoid of canned vegetables or butchered meat.

Oil is simple to obtain--triple wow. And there is plenty of it sitting underground right here in the US--quadruple wow.

I have already seen your triple wow and raised you a quadruple wow. Again, oil is a commodity, meaning you do not have to have a car, buy goods transported with oil, or buy clothing from stores. Your choice. But you do not have the automatic right to complain about Exxon making a profit when a) they are in business to make profits, and b) you are seemingly doing nothing to staunch said profits.

But my downtown loft forbids raising farm stock and they impounded my team of mules I was plowing up the park with. Damn, there went my garden too.


Actually, there is a limit. It's there, but it's sooooooo deep it might as well not be there. We're left trying to take the tipy-top we can reach which is beginning to be beyond our reach technologically. That's not getting into the fact that there isn't that much there to begin with.

I didn't say there wasn't a limit; I said there is still plenty of oil to be had.

But your posts aren't steeped in realism; they smack of communism. Why should corporations who are selling a lot of their product not be entitled to a profit?
