hillary's Woodstock Museum to open next year

What!!!!!!!!! It is only a million........

Breaking News Video

BETHEL, N.Y.

A museum dedicated to Woodstock will rock on even though the federal government pulled $1-million in funding for the memorial to the famous hippie fest. Officially, the Woodstock museum is known as the Museum at Bethel Woods, and is due to open next year. Bethel is the upstate New York town where organizers eventually put on the three-day Woodstock Music and Art Fair in 1969. "Our plans haven't changed," said Ellyn Solis, spokeswoman for the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts. Last week, in a 52-42 vote, the Senate voted to strip the $1-million earmark sought by New York Sens. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Charles Schumer, both Democrats. Bethel Woods has received $15-million in state funding. Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., ran a TV ad that mocks fellow presidential candidate Clinton for the spending proposal.

I'm thinking it is a little embarrassing given the gravity
of all our other issues, but not really damaging, as far getting
the Repub vote. How likely is that?

I think the other Dems might get more mileage out of it
than Repubs.

In the end, it is history, and really no different than all the
other bullshit monuments and half-truth crap that litters
this country.

McCain's counter was hillarous even if he doesn't grasp the relevancy to our situation today.

In today's world, $1 million seems like a small sum. Woodstock was an interesting thing.

I'm not sure, however, what its museum would house.

Certainly it was a memorable event in our history, no?

I think if a republican proposed wasting a million dollars to honor drugs, sex & rock n roll many of you would be all over this.......

A million here......... A few million there..... Hell after a while you could be speaking about some real money here..........

I'm glad they shot this down.

The owner of the site is a billionaire, that has already gotten plenty of state aid to build the performing arts center.

I hope to see the museum in the area. The place is surely a musical landmark, and needs the influx of tourism.

At the same time, the powers that be (Native American lobby) is trying to cram a handful of Casinos into the same area. Trump, et.al. has successfully stalled this attempt.

I think the music history aspect is better for the area.

Can't she get corporate sponsorship for that thing?

How about hitting up the music industry?

Trust me when I say that the owner doesn't need any money to make this happen. There was a small one years ago. I donated a 4 ft. diameter peace sign, complete with two tone xmas lights.

It will get built anyway. It increases the charm of his perf. arts center...right on the original Woodstock site.
