Excerpt

(CNN) – He's the most prominent Democrat yet to take a side in the presidential election, but two sources close to Al Gore tell us not to expect the former vice president to endorse either Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama any time during the primary season.

The sources say Gore talks with both Clinton and Obama, and is on good terms with both. But with Sen. John Kerry and Bill Clinton both aligned to a candidate, Gore has a role to serve as the neutral elder statesman in the party.

If an agreement needs to be struck between Clinton and Obama down the road, Gore is in position to be the likely facilitator of that discussion.

Gore also will want to work closely with whoever wins the nomination to promote an environmental agenda.

As for two other major Democrats yet to endorse a candidate: sources close to both Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi say neither individuals have endorsement plans.

Interesting how Gore's the elder statemans compared to Bill Clinton. Kinda curious when Carter will let his shoe drop.

In that case he's better off just endorsing Obama now, because Hillary will sell out on environmentalism if her corporate donors demand it.

Speaking of environmentalism, when people learn how the brain works, it will likely encourage them to take up gardening. This will cause an inclination towards spreading out more, since gardening does require extra-space.

This would be a highly positive change. Many would grow crops, which they themselves would eat. I'm curious about the effect this would have on global warming and pollution.

I was a big supporter of Gore's OUAT. But he ceased to matter to me when he wasn't verbal after the fiasco/theft of the presidential election. This after allowing the GOP to bash him unchallenged for years. This before his appearing before Congress on some matter concerning global warming and he allowed the GOPers to hijack him with BS once again and instead of outrage or spirited defense we got that same old animatronic mode nothing.

Not to mention I'd like to have a word with him about NAFTA, MSM, and a few other oddly pro-corporate things he's been associated with.

No, I mean that Bill Cilnton lost respect by getting nasty and personal, while Gore aspired for better since 2000. That's why people look upto Gore more so than Bill.

No argument there.

Is Al Gore's disassociation with Bill Clinton during his (Gore's) presidential campaign a sign that he will eventually endore Obama?

I'm still convinced Gore's disgusted by the whole process and the nasty taste in his mouth hasn't gone away.

Which is too bad for us. I'm convinced he would have won in a landslide had he chosen to run.

Black_Knight is going down hill
Well it's still the lingering loyalty to Clintons with his being Vice President, although he made a major blunder not having him campaign in 2000, then of course the Republican voter suppression of the blacks or Nader's meddling wouldn't have had the election stolen from him. That and Liberman's khniving . (After the election, they should throw his ass out)

But over all, if he voted his interests, he'd go with Obama for the reasons Hex stated.
