Clinton goes negative in new ad
Title
Clinton goes negative in new ad Link CNN Political Ticker: All politics, all the time Blog Archive - Clinton goes negative in new ad « - Blogs from CNN.com ----------------------------------------------------- Excerpt (CNN) – Hillary Clinton is taking aim at Barack Obama in a new Wisconsin television ad for not agreeing to participate in a debate there. "Both Democratic candidates have been invited to a televised Wisconsin debate," an announcer says in the new 30 second spot. "Hillary Clinton has said yes. Barack Obama hasn't. Maybe he'd prefer to give speeches than have to answer questions." "Like why Hillary Clinton has the only health care plan that covers every American, and the only economic plan that freezes foreclosures," the announcer continues. "Wisconsin deserves to hear both candidates debate the issues that matter. And that's…not debatable." The ad is Clinton's latest attempt to put Obama on the defensive over his refusal to debate the New York senator more than twice between Super Tuesday and the crucial March 4 primaries in Ohio and Texas. Clinton, who has been widely praised for her debate performances this campaign season, had proposed one debate a week after Super Tuesday. The Obama campaign later agreed to two debates — one in Ohio at the end of the month, and a CNN/Univision debate in Austin, Texas next week. The ad is also a sign the Clinton campaign is still aiming for a strong showing in Wisconsin next Tuesday, despite the fact it is devoting much of its resources to the Ohio and Texas primaries a week later. Responding to the ad, Obama campaign manager David Axelrod said, "We've debated 18 times, were gonna debate two more, but we've got other business to do here in terms of meeting voters face to face." ------------------------------------------------------ Comment: It seems Hillary's shangrila of happiness and feathers has sprung a leak. Wonder why? Was it the 8 -soon to be 10- state victories in row amassed by Obama? Is it because Obama leads in votes? Leads in delegates? Leads in super delegates? Leads in cash? |

visiting plants in racine and janesville (the GM plant) and three "town hall" meetings - he hit back in PERSON.
in response to hillary's ad challenging him in a ANOTHER DEBATE, his answer was simple. "no thanks. there have already be 18 debates. i want to meet the wisconsin people." he also pointed out hillary's support for the bankruptcy bill, her early support for nafta, her support for the war. from one of his speeches today: "hillary clinton and john mc cain voted for a war in iraq that should have never been authorized, and should have never been waged. a war that cost us thousands of precious lives and billions of dollars a WEEK that could have been used to rebuild crumbling schools and bridges, roads and buildings... that could have been invested in job training, and child care and making health care affordable, or putting college within reach." ...sounds like a great ad in the making, to me! in answer to hers.

It's not that she's going negative, rather that now she's being more honest about being negative. However, she's picked bad timing and the worst candidate to be negative about. Hillary's previous smear attempts against Obama have all backfired and cost her the nomination. Now she's just being bitter about shooting herself in the foot.
