I find it interesting since Rummy wanted to cut and run, and it's now Rice and Powell's plan that's keeping us in Iraq. Although Bush's pride in not wanting to be the one on watch when we need to retreat is also a big fact.

Hang them all for war crimes!

What is your opinion of how they handled the portrayal of Powell..........???

I have always felt highly of him & this one would seem to imply/indicate that if there was a good guy in all this it was him.....

Certainly there was no shortage of short sighted idiots & evil ijntent etc. etc.... etc.........

But the epitome of evil seems to to be cheney. Which I believe most of us have believed all along....... bush2 is played like he is merely his chump & does pretty much what cheney tells him. Hell it seems that cheney, @ least @ times is more in charge then bush2...........

Very, very frustrating to watch the worse things we thought & heard about out dumb leaders was all true..........

YEah...Cheney and his enablers in the OLC at Justice. Bunch of fucking crooks...

I've always like Powell, too, but his UN speech about the slam-dunk WMD evidence gives me pause.

I haven't seen the whole Frontline yet, making my way through. It's very good.

Yea that was very troubling....... But it seems he really was set up......

His was the only honest face left.... Essentially any of the rest of them would have been laughed out the building coming in there w/ such shit.....

I hope he comes out soon & talks frankly on these issues......

There was a really wierd moment when Powell was doing all the gretness that he did then,

he came out and said some stuff from a paper and then he disappeared from the 'news'.

This must mean that 'someone' pulled him aside and threatened
him to the edge of death.

I say that there are a bunch of people out there just waiting to slice Bush/Cheney to pieces and that Powell is one of them

As much as Powell has character and intelligence his was completly out of his league. He was up against two guys who had done this with a previous presidency. They conspire and play the game better then anyone to their and the rest of the world's (at this point) detrement.

That along with a completly complacent media/journalism to quell any truths and an ability to re-write history at near parrellel timing just makes me wonder if there's any hope.

The two great things that should have ended this fiasco written into our constituion failed us.

Freedom of the press, which bowed, bent, and then broke under capatalistic pressures of profit and neilson boxes.

And powers of the purse, because of career politicians too afraid of the label "unpatriotic". When in fact blocking a funding bill from making it to the floor is the basic check and balance to presidential powers.
