Baghdad on lockdown as rockets, bombs fly
Title
Baghdad on lockdown as rockets, bombs fly Link Baghdad on lockdown as rockets, bombs fly - CNN.com ----------------------------------------------------- Excerpt BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- Baghdad was on virtual lockdown Friday as a tough new curfew ordered everyone off the streets of the Iraqi capital and five other cities until 5 p.m. Sunday. That restriction didn't stop someone from firing rockets and mortar rounds into the capital's heavily fortified International Zone, commonly known as the Green Zone. One slammed into the office of one of Iraq's vice presidents, Tareq al-Hashemi, killing two guards. An American government worker also was killed in rocket and mortar attacks Thursday in the International Zone. U.S. warplanes pounded Baghdad's Sadr City neighborhood Friday, killing four people and wounding five. ------------------------------------------------------ Comment: Well I can sure tell the Surge is working. Maybe a nice shopping trip to a Baghdad market is in order, hmmm Mr. McCain? |

More bombs and rockets landing in the Green Zone.
Bombing in Basara did not prevent Al Sadar's (sp?) boys from taking over a quarter of the city. Maliki's forces are heavily infiltrated with Al Sadar's boys. and, as usual, dozens continue to die in assorted bombings. What other conclusion can one come to other than.... The Surge Is WORKING! |

Here's what blows me away. Muqtada Darth-Sadr will resume a ceasefire and call his thugs off the street only if each and everyone of his militia are given blanket amnesty for any and every crime and act of violence committed, and it's likely that they'll get it in order to maintain the illusion of the surge results.

That seems to be very popular with today's solder. Just like the Blackwater boys, granted full immunity from all national and international laws before they went into Iraq. Demanding or securing immunity from all law before you'll play. That's where they're so much smarter than the solders of the past. If only Hitler and Mussolini had thought to grand themselves blanket amnesty in 1940 before the shit hit the fan. Modern warfare is so much more civilized that way. |
