DALLAS -- The city cannot shut down a Dallas strip club just because a 12-year-old danced nude there.
The city ordinance that regulates sexually oriented businesses does not allow authorities to revoke the license of such a business for employing someone under 18.
"There's a laundry list of things we can use to deny or revoke a license, but having a 12-year-old dancing in their establishment is not one of the things that automatically enables us to revoke their license," said Lt. Christina Smith, a Dallas police vice unit commander who oversees licensing of such establishments.

I don't see how the owners could not have known. Don't they need id's to work @ clubs?

I don't see how the owners could not have known. Don't they need id's to work @ clubs?

On my first date with my current wife she took me to a Dallas strip club, Best Strip Club EVER.

though as I remember it, all the dancers had reached puberty.

In Washington and California they need licenses from the state. I don't know about Texas.

I guess Texas doesn't have any Lewd and Lascivious Acts with a minor laws? Everyone there the night she danced is eligible for arrest. Ignorance is no excuse. And Texas has no child Labor laws? Damn if Elliot Spitizer was on the case..........nevermind.

Yeah well what the fuck should they have done since I have certain expectations if I go to a strip club, and it's the fault of the establishment if a law is broken. I for one care not for fascist policies like the one you want Kandaygo.

Minors get way to much benefit of the law when it comes to this and they can ruin lives for the petulentness. Ever see Atonement?

I'm just quoting legal policy. If they were present during the commission of a crime and knowingly or not participated in that crime, they are eligible for arrest. It applies in drug laws all the time.
