Yes, I saw them mention it on all networks today and I am not the one who dredged it up, Black Night did. This is a news item not an op ed.

Lou Dobbs, mentioned it and yes Fox had a story, and MSNBC mentioned it again.

I wasn't saying that Black Night was dredging up anything just answering you about the fact that I din't drag the thread back out, he did and it was at the top of the page when I saw it and looked and noticed some comments.

And I swear to you ( Your about the only one I would say this to) this is not a smear thing. I was and am still looking to get some insight into what people here think about Obama's opinion on this today. I don't feel like searching the Net just for peoples take on it.

I have a rather Conservative view on Gun Control myself, being from a military family and living with a Peace Officer and having family in the police force. While you may think that Peace Officers are agianst guns.....some want the right to keep them in thier home and own them. Not all officers recieve a gun from their department.

Abortion, while I am for a womans right to choose I always try to talk my friends into giving birth and giving up the child for adoption. The funny thing is a girl I knew that you would think would be for keeping the baby (from a very conservative and well known family) had an abortion and the girl I knew who everyone thought would go for the abortion because they saw her as a "ho" had the baby and raised it by herself.

As a liberal I didn't know where they were going with this. I have my own views on Gun control and other issues, but no one has really spelled out with this story what the views were. Maybe by now they have but I still haven't seen them.

Roller I am not Mudwhistle, Jdanton or Marie D that are looking to debate how bad Obama is in their eyes. To me this story was obviously going somewhere and I could see it was to label Obama a liar.....and it is, but I don't know where he stands on these issues so I can't form an opinion of the situation without getting the opinion of those that may be more neutral than a Hillary supporter. Sure an Obama supporter is not neutral......but there are more neutral opinions here than at a Hillary Clinton Message board.

Most people living in cities [easily half the country] as well as a substantial portion of suburban voters are for gun control ranging from sensible and moderates to extreme. Only a tiny minority is against any gun control or regulation.

Let me bring you in on a dirty secret about who has abortions and why. They're slightly more common among families who oppose it and that's because their children don't support what the parents believe due to how pushy the parents are about it.

Now how would I know this?

Yes the Muslim letter was a "Gee whiz guys look at this" as a counter to the crap I was getting at the time, but this one was something I found after going to a site to read an article that Harper posted. I got to the site read the article and then started browsing. I saw this article read it and didn't understand what the point was and didn't think anything of it untill I was doing my daily news search and found the exact same article embedded into many others from CBS to random obscure news groups. I wanted to see if people here even knew what this was about. Discuss and debate the issues of gun control, abortion ect.

Obama spoke to reporters today and he simply uttered one word during this whole process "Present"- copied from another board.
