Saw this just last week. This will have a ripple effect of driving down whole neighborhoods and small towns. Brockton, the city in the article was a town already on shaky economic ground. I work for a commercial real estate company and this theft is a problem in functioning buildings as well, although the copper and other metals that get stolen from us tend to be from exposed sources such as HVAC units.

Yup. One right here. I'm glad I don't have a car payment, but my house and property taxes, I can't pay them. I have already been sent a foreclosure summons. I've been looking for work for the past 3 months, and noone is willing to hire me, just in the fact that when they ask for my medical conditions, (bad knees, one needs to be replaced, lower back spasms, shoulder) they freak out, and don't want to take a chance. It's even worse, I can't even pay my COBRA, so out the window my med and dental insurance went.

Even worse, someone stole both of my snowplows, each valued new at 3100.00. Just the blades, and thank goodness not the setup for the truck.
