Ptech is going down hill
I heard something about this on Colbert last week. I didn't realize it was in Switzerland.

Makes me wonder if all the other black holes were the result of some monkey-like creatures finally reaching the level of technology and experimenting so as to end up creating a black hole?

Just goofing!

It will be interesting to see what happens.

I'll tell you what happens. The project will go online. It'll do most of what it's meant to do. Someone will run some numbers. They'll find that a black hole was unintentionally created, but that it was so small and puny that no one noticed, thus alaying any fears of the supercollider being planet killer.

The tiny little black hole will escape confinement, dropping towards the center of the Earth collecting mass as it goes. Ripping through the center it will oscillate growing with each pass. Have Earth's rotation to consider also.....

Science fiction story that took place on Mars where they discovered a primordial black hole as a power source, of course the villain released it killing someone in the process....

Thought such black holes were unstable ?

It might go to the center of the Earth or it might srping off elsewhere depending on the trajectory it has when first created. But even if it did start sucking down matter it could take millions of years or more for it to grow into anything remotely menacing. That's how infinitecial it'll be at the start.

As for stability at this point guesses from you or I are just as good as those who know more.

I think this was an episode from "Challenge of the Super Friends" in 1973.
