The US State Department at the weekend lodged an official complaint against Israeli Ambassador to the UN Dan Gillerman after he verbally attacked former US President Jimmy Carter for meeting with Hamas leaders during his recent visit to the Middle East.

According to Ha'aretz, the US Embassy in Tel Aviv asked Israel's Foreign Ministry to chastise Gillerman for his reference to Carter as "a bigot" and an "enemy of Israel" while talking to reporters in New York last week. The US State Department also reportedly planned to issue a public statement of condemnation over Gillerman's remarks.

Washington expressed indignation that Gillerman would personally condemn a former US president, despite that fact that just days earlier the Bush Administration strongly criticized Carter's behavior and agenda in the region.

Carter was given the cold shoulder during his time in Israel, with the prime minister, foreign minister and defense minister all refusing to meet with him. Even Israel's internal security agency reportedly broke with usual operating procedures and informed the American Secret Service that it would not be assisting Carter's security detail.

Why couldn't you have just said some Israelis are being unreasonable and misinformed when it comes to Jimmy Carter? And some are wrong in the way they're treating him? I would have agreed with you on that. But no..... once again, you make a blanket statement about all Jews based on the mis-steps of some Israeli officials.

1. Carter has always been pro Arab terrorism. This is nothing new.

2. Carter was deemed irrelevant by the American electorate on November 4, 1980. Officially he became irrelevant on January 20, 1981. He has been politically irrelevant ever since. The best he's done since is photo ops with Habitat for Humanity.

I like Carter and respect him for trying to initiate a dialogue with Hamas. Whatever may come out of it. I believe he's trying to act in the best interest of both Israelis and Palestinians.

What-the-fuck-ever! Like you know! He's the one who first crafted the Non-Negotiation policy with terrorists and hostage takers in the first place, genius! Maybe if you bothered to learn anything about what Carter acheived you'd realize what a huge favor to Israel he just did.

And yet he's the one who's done the most AFTER his presidency than any other former president. He'll far outshine any post-president from 40 to 43. And he'll definitely be more relevant and useful to our country than you'll ever best on your best day.

The Israeli's who made those hateful comments and blew him off, and worse, the Israelis who abandoned our Jimmy and left him stranded in a foreign country without a national security blanket. The security people, of all people, should be grateful for all the good he has done and the risks he took to go to a war zone, but instead they left him vulnerable and a target in a supposedly allied nation. Assholes.

But just to make the peace, I'll agree with you that his pro Arab terrorist stance is new. I don't really care because he's irrelevant.
Personally, I'm anti Israel and anti Arab militant extremism. I don't give a shit about either one of them, nor Carter.
