Police Beat Three Black Men In Philly

Title
Police Beat Three Black Men In Philly

Link
Video shows police beating restrained suspects - CNN.com
-----------------------------------------------------
Excerpt

The video, shot by WTXF-TV in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, shows at least a dozen police officers pulling the men -- who were suspected to have been involved in a shooting -- out of a car after a vehicle chase Monday night.

At least eight officers are seen either kicking, punching or striking the suspects with batons while the men lie restrained on the ground.

Two men are struck at least 20 times each.

------------------------------------------------------
Comment:

Damn it all to Hell, man. Restrain them and let that be the end of it! What the fuck??

Dude on CNN, Palumbo-head of the Elite Group private security firm, says "emotions were running high and we would have to know what took place before hand."

Bullshit.

The three dudes were restrained and on the ground. The pig fuckers decided to let out some aggression? Find a punching bag, not a black man who is already restrained and on the ground.

Fire all 15 (presumed) cops involved. This shit should NOT fly.

Perhaps the judge can just call the trial an acquittal with one percent of the vote in, and save us all a bunch of money.

What a racist I am to have given any thought to our society being too racist to elect a black man to the top spot. Probably those prison statistics are a simple aberration that will be fixed in a jiffy with a click of our non-racist heels.

Like the Senate no-vote on equal pay for women might be remedied lickety-split with a click of our non-sexist heels.

Change doesn't just require money, it requires resolve.

That would be no fun. The main reason why people become police officers is to beat up and harass people at any chance they get.

3 ni*gers in handcuffs and accused of a crime. Thats a ripe situation to exercise the many perks of the job. Those three are lucky though. At least they didint get shot in the back while restrained.

I hope this doesn't come out badly, but why did the title of this thread have to be labeled that they were black men who got beat up, but didn't mention that some of the cops were black (as the ones at the top of the video appear to be).

While this incident obviously will draw parallels to the Rodney King case, these people were allegedly involved in a drive-by shooting; the most cowardly of all violent criminal acts. Innocent children invariably die from these.

The title would have been more correct to say drive-by shooting suspects have the shit kicked out of them by a shitload of cops in the City of Bro. Love.

To me, it's just as bad to perpetuate that an instance might be racially motivated when it was motivated by a crime.

Police brutality is not excusable because it was motivated by a crime anymore than it is excusable because it was motivated by race.

Black men suffer much more than most groups in this country, and I think its appropriate to have their backs. I highly doubt the beating would have taken place if the supposed shooters had been some good ol' boys. Some people give cops the benefit of the doubt, me, I give the citizen the benefit of the doubt.

This is indeed true, police brutality is not excusable for any reason whatsoever.

And this too may be a fair comparison, but what if the shooters were skin heads. I dare say that the cops would kick their asses too. Gangs collectively suck, and yes I'm assuming that this is gang related because I see this stuff practically every time I watch the local news.

I titled it the way CNN was presenting it. And the guys were already restrained and on the ground. Prosecute the dudes for sure, but the point is, as I just stated, they were restrained and on the ground. The cops kept beating them.

You sure picked up a lot of information from such a short clip. Could you really tell they were restrained on the ground. You are aware the difference between private security and a police officer?

I was watching CNN reporting on it, then went to CNN.com and found the article.

And, yes, I know there is a difference. CNN was interviewing the head of the Elite Group, so that's whose opinion was heard.

It was once encouraged for law enforcement officers to allow citizens to ride with them. This opened the eyes of a lot of citizens even the liberal ones. The fact is in many cases they did not feel we were brutal enough.
