At least Nixon knew enough to quit while he was "ahead."

Good point, this would never be the Case with Bush. He's simply insane and there's no telling what he's capable of doing before leaving office, congress or not.

That smirk is a sign of something sinister, IMO.

It's worth thinking about even if there's only a 1% possibility.

It absolutely could happen. History is clear - and would suggest it's only a matter of when.

Here are two facts one of which most of us know...

Fact #1; Insane-Bush, Cheney, and Rice are arguably the worst president, vice president, and secretary of state in the history of the USA!!

Fact #2; US citizens and voters who put these people in position, and have left them in position no matter how horrific things become, makes us the worst citizens and voters in the history of the USA!

Both insane-Bush and the citizenry will be judged harshly by the historians...

Indeed - I've only voted twice. Once Nov 2006 and once in the early 90's. What a schmuck so I'm trying to atone for my dipshittedness. Peace.

...because we're all to blame for this mess we've created.

I'd like to change the voting systems to get people fully involved and to garner more, or I should say some accountability from our representatives.

First, all voting should be done in the comfort of our homes, with at least one month to review the ballot and cast our votes.

How you ask? All voting can be done with absentee-type ballots. Everyone gets a ballot, or can pick one up, at least a month in advance of election dates. We fill out the ballot and simply drop it in the mail.

But there might be evil people throwing out envelopes or changing the ballots? So if there was a national data base which all citizens can access via computer or phone, we can make sure our ballot was counted and counted correctly.

And how about voting every year?? Sounds like too much effort? Well not if done in the comfort of our homes. And if we did this, we would not need term limits. Why? Because every year on the ballots, there will be a boxes next to incumbents names that say; 'keep in office' and 'throw the bum out'.
If 2/3rds of the registered voters say 'throw the bum out', they're out! If 2/3rds of the voters wish to keep the candidate year-after-year-after-year, then why not?

This system puts 'people' totally in control and forces some accountability of our representatives.

PS: This includes the president! If we want them out, then they're out! If they're so great we want them for 20 years, then so be it...

A poll said on Thursday the fifth-most desired man is Chavez, whose large nose, protruding lips, forehead mole and gap in his front teeth are easy fodder for caricature artists in a South American nation obsessed with beauty,
