You have not commented on just WHY the federal govt NEEDS to be involved in religious activity AT ALL?

Which is why I said if he can carry it out the way it is laid out at present.

We're talking about religious and non-religious activity here, PTech. If we were talking about the government strictly funding religious organizations or religious charities, I would be right in line saying, 'no way in hell'.

I still object for I see no compelling reason to conduct such an experiment on my nickel.

The Constitution commands that the govt leave religion to those who practice it, freely.

All I am saying is if a charity or organization which does good in the community needs monetary help to keep itself going, and no one is giving, there should be some way to keep the charity working. Do you know how many food pantries are closing their doors due to lack of funds? Or how many shelters shut down because they haven't enough money to keep the lights on?

The religions will still be free to practice as they please. We are talking charities, not churches. The money will be given to charitable organizations, not the church itself.

Going a bit broad viewed, aren't you?

Is it just me or didn't Obama say he plans to fund the program with money saved from the Iraq War? Granted, tax dollars probably will be included, but they'll be reallocated, not collected solely for.

Using a broad view outlook on the 'all' statement, too. Money won't be going to 'all'. It will be going to the charities that need help.
