If the government gives money to ALL the religious groups and secular organizations, forget a 60% income tax, just give ALL your earnings to the government for state-sanctioned dispersal. The gospel according to God, and the GNP according to Obama?

Which is why I said if he can carry it out the way it is laid out at present. We're talking about religious and non-religious activity here, PTech. If we were talking about the government strictly funding religious organizations or religious charities, I would be right in line saying, 'no way in hell'.

OK, call it a proposed experiment then CA.
I still object for I see no compelling reason to conduct such an experiment on my nickel. The Constitution commands that the govt leave religion to those who practice it, freely. |

It is impossible, well, implausible, for someone who is religious to not make decisions with their beliefs in mind. Hell, the Declaration of Independence was faith based, in part: Quote:
If a policy is sound, be it faith based or not has no bearing.

The religions will still be free to practice as they please. We are talking charities, not churches. The money will be given to charitable organizations, not the church itself.

Is it just me or didn't Obama say he plans to fund the program with money saved from the Iraq War? Granted, tax dollars probably will be included, but they'll be reallocated, not collected solely for. Using a broad view outlook on the 'all' statement, too. Money won't be going to 'all'. It will be going to the charities that need help.
