It's hard to imagine why people would do such a thing. Could you imagine just kicking it with your family and going about your business then all of a sudden BAM just like that you are killed.

No better than any other fucking murderer out there. What they need to do is have squads patrolling the jungles, when they see a poacher, shoot the fucker. Seems simple enough and like equal treatment.

And hunters find everything, bodies, plane crashes, fossils, fresh water etc etc. That and hikers, but there's not a lot of recreational walking around the woods it those parts.
They were talking about this stuff this morning on NPR.

'Mother Lode' Of Gorillas Found In Congo Forests : NPR

They think that this area stayed protected because it is in an area that is extremely hard to get to, and that protected the gorillas from development and Ebola virus. But this area is also scheduled to be leased off for it's lumber, African national resources are being used up as fast as they can make a buck. This will take a worldwide effort to buy off the Congo government so that they can make the same amount of money as they would from the bribes from lumber companies.

It's inviting trouble regardless. Donations can be fickle things, but bushmeat fuckers are persistent and ruthless bastards.

I appreciate the intial cynicism upon reading the article, because I did the same thing, but as I read more...the announcement of finding the gorillas served a purpose
read the article guest 12345 posted from NPR, the hunters and lumbar companies WERE ON THE WAY IN, this announcement didn't blow the gorillas cover, they were about to be stripped of their cover.

They need ALOT of money to get protection and they won't be able to get it without awareness that the gorillas were found.

Oh to be Bill Gates for a day!

Yeah, I though about her when I heard this. Fantastic news. Seems there are a few dark holes left on earth.

I say we adobt the old counter-oaching lan of Kenya. Any all all poachers found are to be shot on sight and survivors shot again. See how badly they want it then.
