Looks good to me...sunny day helps a ton. If you shoot in manual mode, can you opt for different aperture?

does anyone have any experience with this camera? I want to try to get some more football pics before the season is over. My first 2 attempts come out just a tad blurry.

I would think I could do better with new 8 meg slr.

any suggestions to help?
When shooting action shots, set your E500 on shutter priority ("S") at a shutter speed which will let you freeze action.
If you find you must boost your ISO, do so to maintain at least the desirable 1-1 focal length to shutter speed ratio.
Use faster lenses.

Someone will note something about "noise". So what? Do you want the shots or a clutter-free, "noise free" shooting life?
Too many times, if you want the shot badly enough, you'll crank up the ISO and in those instances, simply keep them for home use and don't display them on the Net: case solved: case closed.

Nice action shots! I'm still bound to my old Nikon I've had for decades. It needs a new light meter, and I'm terrified to "send it off" to anyone. (It has the metal body they don't make anymore, and more than one camera shop employee has tried to buy it off me.)

Anyone have any reputable repair places?

I've got a great one, if you're in NY. If you want to ship it, it would probably be worth it.

Hey at least it is digital now, no need to worry about the shot, rolls of film or seeing how it turns out an hour/day later - at least.

Just wish that the jerks that robbed our house had not stolen both my Olympus camera's OM-1 and OM-2 with a full set of lenses....

One of these days I will pick up a digital slr that can take night shots.....

All DSLRs will make "night shots". It's the lenses that makes them effective.

I have chosen to use an adapter and fast (85mm f/1.8 & 50mm f/1.4 Canon FD) lenses for my "night shots".
A Canon FD 35mm f/1.4 lens will also do the trick.
