Bears
My son lives in Alaska and is enamored of them - I don't know how many he actually gets to see, but our last trip there to visit him and meet our new granddaughter, he took us to the Alaska Zoo, and we were able to capture this image:

Beautiful! Now I have to look for my bear pics. I got some good mating ones, but not sure if I should post them. We need a "blushing" icon Eric! lol.

The Great Teacher of man.
"Teacher!? Some wise assed apeman starts following me around to see what I eat and calls me teacher. Then the mother fucker takes a shot at stealing my fish, so I did what any self respecting bear would do... I gave that little rat the back of my goddamn hand! See if THAT don't smarten him the fuck up! Freaky little thumb pawin' wanna-be." ![]()

This was Fanny our adult Kodiak. The zoo has her skelaton on display. I wouldn't want to be the one to do her nails! She actually was a very sweet bear.

In the field with the Marines in Alaska our survival instructor told us to always wear little bells and carry pepper spray because of the bears.
He went on to say that you can always tell the kind of bear by it's scat. You can always tell the black bear because it's scat is full of nuts and berries. The brown bear is even easier. it's full of little bells and smells like pepper!

Some of my friends had bells on thier backpacks, ...I always tried to sing while hiking up the mountain. That shit will scare any bear away. ![]() .. part of the fun of those trips....Being in your tent late at night, miles from the nearest road, and hearing something shuffle outside....(jitters).
