Squirrel
This guy was willing to pose for some bread, I like the cheap models
I was able to get close enough to use my 50MM lense. I also had the camera on a tripod with a cable release for my shutter to try for a really crisp shot.![]()

I love these little critters. I had to laugh at all the researchers saying they don't remember where they buried 60% of their nuts. I get up every 2 hours at night to take my medication and would open my sliding door to smoke. Well, I had about 18 pounds of shelled almonds that I had been feeding the squirrels during the day. What I discovered is that the racoons were digging up the nuts and eating them at night! Gotta love nature, we can never outsmart it.

![]() TC, the cat, loved his squirrel friends. Then a fox got TC. At least he went fast. Fox don't let their catch live once they get hold of it. They have to transport it quietly.

A pet squirrel, Henry, visited our household for a couple of weeks. He was a wild little tyke. He climbed us like a tree scurrying under our clothes so fast you could not stop him.
What was unnerving was that he liked to nibble, with their incisor a nibble usually breaks skin. So he would perch on our shoulder and one would worry about him becoming affectionate with ones ear - pierced..... Eventually he stayed outside and would return infrequently so we would put nuts out. Much later we put a bird feeder out in the middle of the yard. The squirrels were all over it, kind of fun to watch. But then one day we returned from errands when we let our dogs out, an eagle was on our deck overlooking the feeder. This was one of those whoa, experiences as that huge wingspan opened up...... .......new meaning to feeding the birds.

My friend had a squirrel follow him home from the local park one day. For about a week he could go into the back yard, hold his hand out (palm up) and call the squirrel and the squirrel would come down from the trees and sit on his hand.
then the squirrel disappeared. My mom found a baby blue jay and nursed it to health. We'd leave the kitchen window open and he'd fly in every day just about noon and take a shower in the kitchen sink.
