Whatever you do, DONT EAT IT!! Most times the brightly colored mushrooms are colored that way as a warning. People who have eaten them and lived to tell about it usually say they tasted great, they never even knew they were toxic. And that "sac" that's visible at ground level is usually a tell-tale sign that the mushroom is poisonous. I would guess it's from the "destroying angel" family. Amanita I believe.

Well, it appears that I was right on the Amanita part, but this 'shroom appears to be an "Amanita Jacksonii" One of the ONLY edible mushrooms in the Amanita family. Still, unless you were 100% sure you wouldn't want to eat it. Because if you're wrong.........

Thanks Springfield! I wouldn't eat a wild 'shroom anyway. Too many of these suckers are deadly!
