Don't worry about the background, if the garage needs painting it just gives it that rustic, natural look

I see you have a green and a ruby throat, (I forget the proper names)beautiful birds!

I rescued a sphinx hummer moth from Menard's yesterday. He wanted to get on the petunias but couldn't because it was so cold in the shade, so I assisted him. He had beautiful shades of pink beneath his wings.

Your moths are a lot more colorful than mine.

All we have is the Rubies here. The pics show a male and a female. I like the middle picture, where she's looking up at him. Truthfully, these pics don't depict half of what was going on yesterday.

I didn't post them because the brown background doesn't show them well, but just before the posted pics were taken, there were two males beating the crap out of each other, on/around the feeder. The female slipped in quickly, and I didn't realize it was her until I posted these pics.

It is rare for me to see two on the feeder at the same time, but they're courting now. Also...I bought new feeders this year, with many ports for them to feed from, so maybe they'll learn to share

edit...now that I look again, the top pic is two males challenging each other.....

Saved these pics from the recycle bin! I forgot nothing is truly "lost" in my computer

Preening in the sun...

Who you lookin at?

A little blurry, but these two just couldn't get along! I love the way the red doesn't show, until they challenge one another.

Sounded fine to me!

I think the amazement with hummers, is that I really wonder who the heck they think they are? Don't they realize they weigh about as much as a paper clip?

Nice...very nice. What you puttin in that water? They seem to be getting along. It's rare that two males will be on my feeders at the same time.

Just the standard old 4 parts water to one part white sugar, lol. I think it has something to do with how many feeders I put out? Right now I have 11 out and about a dozen birds, If all 3 dozen show up this year I'll put the remaining feeders out as well. Don't get me wrong...the males still bump and get all territorial. I cringe whenever I hear that smack. Little turdheads.

I can't imagine the havoc with eleven feeders. I was constantly getting divebombed when I stepped outside with one feeder.

They're hard little buggers to photograph. Even though they seem to hold still, they can dart away so quickly. I caught this one walking past a neighbor's yard.

That makes this pic even more amazing...I was sure you set up here for an hour, waiting for the hummer to return...
