I posted this over on the Hummer Forum...
(Singing the old Stones song in ma head: "Wild, wild hummers...couldn't keep me awaaaaaayyyyy...")
I went rideabout today off our woods on old clay roads. I'm cruising along, and hey! I see wild Campensis radicans! (Orange Trumpet Creeper) Surely there's GOT to be wild hummers by this thar creek! ![]() ![]() Bury your face much? ![]() Rut roh! Hummers aren't alone- look closely... ![]() But wait..Mister Snake ain't alone.. ![]() (Maybe this is Mrs. Snake?) Anyhoo, I skeered the snakes off hoping the birds would see them. |

Man...you've got quite a collection. Great shots..fuzz notwithstanding.
What ISO are you shooting at? I've wrestled w/blur with my digital. I'm pondering the use of a tripod on the shots where I can set up and wait. Looks like you're shooting a high ISO? Outside you might be able to come down some, and get rid of some of the noise? Nevertheless, an amazing show going on in your yard.

It's set on Auto. Am I lazy or what? Now as soon as I can figure out some software to get these videos from the DVD I burned off my camcorder to the Internet I'll be showing y'all the brood at play!
(It's cute...you can hear them chirpling on the audio part.) |

Auto is fine...set it on S....shutter preferred. Outside, you can certainly shoot a tad faster, and your camera will open the lens a little. This will help w/blur. Choose a shutter speed of at least 250 or faster, and see what happens. Capiche? Let me know if you need more info. I love those pics...
