Trust me...you aren't alone...Chao runs circles around me with this digital...but I'm a newbie. I must learn to forget everything I knew about "wet" photography...

I think your prob. is definitely slow shutter speed. So, at S setting, you can choose your shutter speed...at least 250, if it's bright out. That might help.

If you're using a telephoto, the blur is magnified. Same trouble I'm having. I think it's an age thing w/me too. Maybe I just can't hand hold at 1/60th of a second anymore, like I could in my 20's

Maybe the mirror causes more vibration on digital, than on my old camera...

Keep track of what settings you are shooting at. Try setting the ISO at no higher than 200 on sunny days, and try to see how fast you can shoot.

My hummers are going batshit too...I just haven't the time to sit w/my camera lately.

I tell ya, if these babies remember their way back here next year, and if this reproduction rate continues as is: I'm going to have to buy stock in the sugar industry! LOL! We're refilling 14 large feeders every other day. (And I'm not including all the salvia, agastache, red morning glory, trumpet vine, coral honeysuckle, monarda, and other hummer plants I have blooming they feed on.)

Don't your hummer buddies tell you that the same ones return every year?

Before I was good at it, I was "late" putting my feeders out one year. The buggers were hovering aroung the spots the feeders were the year before, so I hung them out.

The opinions vary, but they're banding them now. These studies should answer that question.

Do you plant stuff they love? That helps a lot. I've even seen people put red umbrellas up in their yard at migration time to attract them in, lol. They LOVE red and yellow. I think mine come because of the plants. (At least I hope that's why..after all this $ I spent on making a hummer garden, lol).

Wait until you see this video. You won't believe it! Hubby viewed it and said "Dang, they look like a swarm of bees!"

Gawd, I'm so frustrated! I have it burned on DVD, and UTube won't recognize the format. Next I shucked out $60 for "conversion software", and it freezes mid movie conversion. What a POS.

If anyone can view a .vod file I'll store it on my website, lol.

This is so not what I want to post. I'm working on figuring out why converting my good quality videos to MP4 or AVI is crapping up the quality to nearly unviewable.

It's not much (envision this many birds at each feeder of 3 side by side feeders... all at once), but it'll give you a quick, small peek at my mob. (Low light due to thunderstorm moving in..)
