Keeping digital pics chronological
After some experimenting, I've learned how to keep all my digital photos in chronological order.
First, do not delete photos you don't like in the camera, as that space will be filled by another photo you take. Let's say, while you're on a trip, you sit in your room in the evening and review your photos. You don't like 4 of them, so you delete them. The next 4 photos you take will be in those spots. Loading them into the computer. I like to do slide shows of the entire year's activities. My first upload from the camera goes into fial "A". Once uploaded I do all my editing and deleting, etc. Then I copy or move all photos to file "2008" Next time I upload, it is to file "b". then when I move those edited photos to "2008" they remain chronological.

You're welcome.
On our trip to Williamsburg, my one daughter has photos in her camera. Since I've got many, I asked her to send me only up to 5 that might be nice of myself and my wife. When I get them, I have file them with a name that fits my main file. If they fit in by, say photo number 118, I remame them 118a, 118b, etc. so they'll find there way into proper order. There's no easy way when merging photos from two cameras. Trick is to remember that frequently, less is best. At the end of the year, I try to edit down to under 300 pics for the year, and, via Roxio Media, make a nice slide show with music added. One thing I've found over the years is that people have a limited attention span. I was at a baptism yesterday, and the one girl took 3 or 4 pictures of each couple, "just in case". I asked her, "If they all come out well, do you keep them all?" She said, "Yes." She'll learn.
