Thanks Gonz...Ask Chao...if you sit long enough, you get some great pics by accident. I just happened to snap the shot as she he came flying out of the hole.

I just bought photoshop, and I seem to go in circles w/the editing. I wanted to post these quickly, but I'll definitely run these though the better editing.

I don't think the quality is that good, but if they sent me a free bird book, I'd be happy! Besides, I wanted you all to see it. One of those rare shots.

For the heck of it in Photoshop open that pic and choose: Image then Adjust then auto levels, and see how it looks?

I just installed photoshop, and I am figuring out the adjustments pretty well. I just haven't had the time to figure out how to save/file them. I haven't found an apply button. I keep going in circles.

You wouldn't believe how bad the original exposure is...too dark to see anything.

I emailed audobon, but don't expect much. If someone steals it, and I find it, I'll just take the book around and say..."hey...I took this"

This morning I caught a 3' female up on the front porch. She's much smaller than the two 5' male Kingsnakes I've caught by my porch recently. A very sweet, pretty girl.

(Extra points awarded self for getting snake to freeze so I could get the shot with the other hand...lmao!)

Beautiful snake! I guess you don't have a mouse problem.

I've got a big bad macho friend. We were doing a job a few years ago, and I noticed a black snake about the same size as the king you're holding. The homeowners had weedwacked the tall grass, and I believe they blinded this snake in the process. I picked it up, as it was in the middle of the road. I pondered giving it to a friend who has a thing for snakes, but I had nothing to put the snake in at the time.

I walked up the driveway holding this gorgeous snake, and you should have seen muscles running like a little schoolgirl! I still tease him to this day.

Nice pic! The king snakes out this way are normally smaller. But king snakes always seem to be docile and mild mannered.
