Fauna
Well, we've got Flora, Moths and Flutterbys, so I figured I'd post some animal pics...
I happen to have a family of grey fox living under one of my buildings...this morning, I thought I noticed someone staring at me, as I was watering the flower beds... ![]() This is my second encounter w/this bugger. The first, when I caught him in a havahart trap that was meant for the groundhogs that terrorize my garden. I ran in the house, got my camera, and some leftover chicken. It didn't take long for him/her to succumb to temptation... ![]() I heard growling every time he went back under the building with his catch.... Aha!!! ![]() Clearly, one was more dominant than the other, but nature called, and number 2 was not going to miss this party! ![]() I sat for about an hour, and got some pretty cool pics...each time having to wait for them to re-emerge after stealing a piece of food... Checking to make sure the coast is clear... ![]() I stretched the page again, but they look cooler in the larger size....

OMG! That is simply awesome. Great pics. Those are kits, aren't they? (Babies) Their eyes haven't even changed color yet!
Too freakin' cool for words. (Love the addition of the Fauna folder too.) Edited to add: did you possibly catch Mom and move her? Those little guys look rather lost... |

I posted the story at Rumble a couple of weeks ago...I keep a trap up against the building to catch the demon groundhogs that move in under that structure. It's a havahart, and I fill the hole w/dirt so they have to dig out. By the time the groundhogs get done digging, they're in the trap, and I relocate them. One morn, I heard a horrendous sound coming from the trap. I pulled off the cardboard covering, and found this little guy... ![]() At first, I didn't know what it was, or what I was going to do with it. It was crying, growling, and shivering all at the same time. I grabbed my camera, and while I was shooting, I caught a glimpse of the mom running across my lawn...she was obviously concerned about her kit. Happy that mom was around, I let him go back under the building. This morning while watering, I thought I saw a pair of eyes behind the (closed) trap. They're fine...and happy to have gotten some barbequed chicken. I might do this in the mornings, until mom takes them to the woods. Man....these buggers are cute!!! Edit...I was sitting about 6 feet away from the hole while shooting. It took a while for them to get up the courage to totally emerge from the hole...at first, the loud shutter was scaring them back under the building. Food...works every time!

Pretty cool...as a kid, I remember visiting Fla., and seeing these lizards everywhere. I like the fact that you got 3 different sizes, and 3 diff. colors. I remember them mostly being green.

Thanks for pulling me up to speed on the story. That's really cool. There are many that wouldn't have a heart like you. Back when I was a licensed wildlife rehabber I saw some real nightmares caused by humans. Bless ya DEEEZ!
