LOL to both of you. Just to clear up any mis-conceptions I'm not rich and I'm not stealing. But the way Ciao puts it, it does make it seem like that.

I get $900/year to buy something "techie" from work and including the proceeds of my recent sale, I'm not paying for this camera out of my own pocket and I didn't pay for the D40 either

The brakes - my dad's friend did them and just charged me parts.

Downpayment - I've been saving for 8 years

Travel- well that's my one indulgence. I do budget/backpacking travel and trust me I've stayed at dumps and take public transport
