I was thinking of a thread where an award is made to a person and we could stop by and add congrats etc. Thought it might be nice to know who has earned VIP status.

The VIP group does show, that's an exception because it's not lumped into all the other ones. On the main forum page click on the "View Forum Leaders" link at the bottom.

I agree with Disfigured that "apolitical" should be an option.
