Glad you found the place. I am working ridiculously long hours this week so I won't be around much until the weekend at the earliest. Hope you stick around.

God is created in our image, not the reverse.
That's why when ever we try to envision him, be it a game, or a movie, or even a thought, the rendition undoubtedly takes on human characteristics . So most of us gravitate to "God" games, because they reflect our thoughts and feelings of a god, which in turn is a projection of ourselves. Nearly all religions have gods that are very very similar. That's not an accident, and its not divine intervention. It's just the human mind gravitating towards a theme. Each one a slightly different variant of the next. Each one borrowing or rejecting bits and pieces of the previous one. Who wouldn't want to play god? When the only god we perceive is simply a super powerful version of ourselves. |

Glad you are here. I miss those old talks. Have you read the book I mentioned in the other thread?

Did you ever stop to think that it's more than likely the SOUL which was created in God's image? I highly doubt God is made of dust, so that rules out the fleshy part. I highly doubt God procreates outside of spirit form, as with Mary, so that rules out a gender. I also highly doubt that God needs to shit. That rules out the intestines and the rest of the gastro-intestinal tract. So, what is made in God's image?

Well I'm just floored by that argument. I give up. How could I possible argue against such an onslaught of debate finesse, and irrefutable logic.
How could I have been so stupid. Of course it's not the overwhelming body of evidence that god is a creation of mankind, it's just the opposite because E-Man says so. Well I'm all turned around now, how could I not be. There's not enough eyerolling icons for you E-man. At least give some sort of reason for your "belief", not just a curt statement as if it's a fact and we're all dopes of not seeing it that way. You know it makes debate, conversation, and interaction so much more interesting when the other person has reasons behind their point of view. Step outside your evangelical box for two minutes and give us your answer to the question. What sort of people want to play these games? I said "everyone". You said......well you just railed against any one who even had a slightly different opinion or image of god then you do, you really didn't say anything. Hell the least you could do is believe those who play these games are blasphemous. That would contribute something to the thread. Albeit a completely predictable contribution, but a contribution none the less. Is it possible that you contribute nothing.....no wait, that you actually subtract from any conversation you get into? Unless of course it's with another drooling god lover like yourself. Last edited by disfigured; 12-11-2007 at 05:55 PM. Reason: you to your |
