This is a great metaphor for creationism though. They would know that they did not just happen from a clumping of metals (with lightning and time added).
They would understand that they would be as much a product of evolution as we are. They would be both a completely new lifeform, and also simply a next step in evolution from human beings. As we evolved from ape like creatures, AI would be our evolutionary children only their medium wouldn't be biological, or genetic, it would be ideological, or memetic.

Oh mercy that just sounds SO desperate. AI could NEVER evolve. Just as our miraculous brains could not have. They would know that that a clock maker was out there somewhere if we hid ourselves. And there would be countless indicators.

If Eman was talking about Eman, there would be no need for Eman to use the third person, since the first would do. Using the third person is an unnecessary com plication of the narrative.

Machines have evolved over time thanks to humans, so what exactly would stop AI from evolving?

Yet Eman is posting a narrative about Eman, thus the need for 3rd person. So Eman is speaking in narrative form in real time not 'about' but for Eman. Thus the real time perspective is maintained.

Even that would doubtless be a step in the right direction

AI is basesd on design and not chance. Chance would not grow a new leg or wing for the robot. Machines have not evolved. The designer has upgraded the machines. And the designer has made each machine 'unto its kind.'

Apparently Eman has nevcer heard of "compatibility." Which explains the lack of ladies in his so-called life.
