Good answer Gaia. My guess is the robots would have to have either nuclear or fuel cell power or some sort of combination of both. And that simply could not evolve. Humans convert food into energy.

We superimpose our humanity on everything, even our machines, which we created to make our life easier (well...that was the original intent anyway) Every Gadget I've got needs electricity, a on-switch, and some I need to program, before they do anything. They are not, nor will they ever be, "alive" somehow. They have no "thought" or consciesness of their own, they do not have a survival instinct, and are just useless pieces of plastic and metal, unless I put batteries in them and/or plug them into an outlet.

Well artificial intelligence machines would be self powered and have the ability to make independent decisions and possibly procreate. I think humanity will achieve that real soon. Unfortunately it will probably some kind of killing machine for man is saturated with the ways of the evil one. The initial A.I. will be rudimentary. Maybe a computer programmed to shoot anything that moves using a motion detector. Proceeding from there. It will not shoot if you have the right transponder on you. Etc.

Then later a speaking Google, expanding upon the current telephone computer help. It is already happening. Lithium ion batteries probably do not have the bang so a new type of power source will need to be developed for a humanoid type of robot. To me it just shows how unique humans are and that we could not have evolved with such complex systems.
