We have just as much, if not more, evidence that God created us. Assume that all the humans disappeared because the robots broke our PRIME DIRECTIVE law. The robots would very easily deduce that they were created yet some renegade robots would insist that random metals by chance formed the first cigarette lighter, which later evolved into the current robots.
We could never be greater than god because god is an imaginary ideal. Sorry there is no evidence for your biological clock maker. Robots will gain an even greater understanding of evolutionary processes than we humans possess. They will understand that we are not gods.

But we WOULD be their gods. That is the point. Particularly if behind the scenes we were making everything run (atoms, stars, gravity, et.al.)

Their rejection of our work would be insulting. Particularly if they listened to a renegade human who told them to follow him because he would show them that the notion of a creator was false. (Isn't that what you are doing?)

Then you should worship the ape, or the ameboa, as your God, for it is their line which created you. But that would be silly, wouldn't it. We humans are not making the universe run behind the scenes. We are just part of it. A tiny tiny part and we are just trying to get by. Not suprising we pray to every god we can imagine.

Too funny. Worship an ape. Please. I was using humans as a metaphor for God with robots as the humans. Should the robot then worship the cigarette lighter?

Robots worshipping the cigarette lighter or the bong would be like us worshipping the cat. It doesn't really make sense because evolutionarily we are cousins, and not in direct lineage. Perhaps they would worship Gort. He looks like a robotopomophic god should.

A robot might worship the computer chip but it would be too logical to call it god. Why would a robot worship a cigarette lighter? They have nothing in common.

The same reason an evolutionist worships mud-to-life.

Right. And people who worship cats and Gorts are subject to God's wrath and jealousy.
