You have no wife, remember? You either failed to satisfy her, or you broke your God's law by cheating, or you broke your God's law by divorcing her. And although you can whine about self-defense, God gave you no sanction to take the life of the man with the empty gun. Or to harm him in any way. That is an even truer test of faith than the weakling in the video faced: Would you rather lose this life without taking another's or would you rather preserve for a brief span of time that which you must surely lose anyway, even if the cost is killing another's of God's creatures? If you sincerely believe in a resurrection, be it Earthly of Heavenly, the man who kills you takes nothing. But the man who pushes you into killing him takes everything.

When you doubt this, you doubt that God will return your life to you. Because you would make yourself unworthy of a new life to preserve this one.

But again, that is a positive thing. The fact that you value your current life above your faith in God suggests that your childhood brainwashing might someday be undone.

I would rather lose my life then lose someone I love, and I don't think I'd have it in me to kill anyone. If someone I loved was in danger, I would deal with the guilt. But if it was just you and me, and if I can't talk my way out of it, I'd rather be dead than have another's death on my consience. Mainly because if I were to get killed either A: I'd be in my idea of Heaven, or B: I'd be dead. I wouldn't care about anything.
