You exaggerate our president's motives. Bush wants to HELP the Iraqi people and establish some degree of sanity in the Middle East.

Oh everyone knows his motives now and they had nothing to do with helping them when he started the whole mess. It only became about helping them when the WMD's and short war dream scenario went sour.

Well the mission DID change once the WMD issue was off the table. Al qaeda, insurgents and Iran are still fighting so Bush probably became too ambitious in attempting to nation build. But it was and is the right thing to do. We could not just pull out and leave the shia and kurds to the mercy of the sunnis. We need a base in the Middle East anyway since the Saudis kicked us out. We will be in Iraq forever. Get used to it.
