The trouble I have with Christians isn't their belief in invisible guardians but their refusal to admit what happens right before their eyes. Anybody who thinks about it knows that a sperm fertilized egg isn't a person. But so powerful is the dogma beat into their heads from birth that they will defend to the death the most ridiculous ideas. These ideas mind you are the ideas of ignorant peasants and shepherds from 2000 years ago who had no idea what conception meant or involved.
As an example a pregnant wife could convince her irate husband that an invisible man had knocked her up and her bastard was the son of god.
