Methodist Minister Arrested for Possession of Child Pornography for Second Time

According to a news release from District Attorney Mike Dunavant’s office, a Methodist minister in Middleton, Tennessee, has been arrested for a second time on a sex charge.

Prosecutors say Brian Riley, formerly of Middleton First United Methodist Church, was arrested January 18th, and charged with "sexual battery by an authority figure."

A release from Dunavant’s office says TBI investigators found “sexually explicit images which depicted minors engaged in sexual activity or simulated sexual activity” on three computers seized from Riley’s home and church.
As of Wednesday afternoon, January 23, 2007, Riley was being held in the Hardeman County Jail on $500,000 bond.

In December, Riley was charged with “sexual battery by an authority figure.”

He is due in court on March 11th.

Prosecutors say they’re turning evidence over to the FBI Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

You're welcome. I drive by this church every day and I have a friend whose daughters attend the youth services at this church.

Things like this really seem to be a regular occurence these days....WTF?????

I have a friend who works at the jail where he is being held and she said he put a plastic bag on his head and threatened to commit suicide.

It's been going on for years. People and children are speaking out now that there is some amout of understanding and protection unlike when I was a child. I think Chris Hansen from Dateline needs to get undercover people in churches to get these freaks busted and the truth about their religious hypocracy out of the closet! Or Confessional.

There's probably something to the notion that repressing healthy sexual desire leads to the development of unhealthy ones (as evidenced by Eman's lust to defecate on the mentally ill).

Or, flipped it around a bit, maybe perverse desires lead people to the ministry in the hopes that the job will help supress their twisted needs.

(Middleton, TN 1/23/2008) A Hardeman county pastor is behind bars on sex charges. The accusations are graphic.

It happened in Middleton, TN.

Last month, Pastor Brian Riley was accused of fondling a teenage girl. He posted the $50,000 but was recently re-arrested after investigators discovered hundreds of sexually graphic images on his computers.

They found a total of 800 sexually explicit pictures on three different computers. Two from his house. One, from the church where he worked.

Sources tell News Channel3 the teenage accuser who had him arrested in the first place, was a 15-year-old foreign exchange student who was living at his house.

"It's something going through my mind since we heard about it, I cannot get it off my mind. Its just hard to believe," said parishoner Liz Bell.

The investigation started last month after a foreign exchange student living at the Riley home accused him of sexual battery.

According to court documents, the 15-year-old told police Riley rubbed baby oil on her legs, stomach and buttocks numerous times. She says it happened while Riley's wife took his daughter to dance class and they were home alone.

She says she told him 'No,' but he said 'It was okay.' She also says the preacher put his hand down her pants and fondled her on top of her clothes.

We're told Riley's family still lives at the parsonage. No one answered the door when we knocked. Parishoners say he preached at 3 different Hardeman county churches.

Wednesday night they gathered to talk about the stunning allegations.

"It's a shame it really is, for someone to throw his life away the way he did," said Bell.

She thought Riley was a good pastor. She says he was particularly good at getting young people to join the church.

"We were getting a good many young kids that we didn't have, it was building up because of him," she said.

Riley's behind bars on a $500,000 bond. So far he's only been charged in Hardeman county, but the feds are now investigating because of the kiddie porn that was found. It's certainly possible he may face federal charges as well.

My sister agrees with the latter part of your post. But I myself think the first part is more likely.

Thing is, most of the preachers I know are married and usually to a pretty nice looking lady as well. I myself have a MILF fetish. If these preachers dont wanna knock boots with their wives, I'd be happy to play pinch hitter for them.
