I don't think vegetarianism is the answer, but more vegetables and less meat probably is. A diet with less calories and better balance is the key. Many spiritual seekers have used fasting as a way of reaching "altered states". I'm not sure it is a healthy thing to do, but I'm sure it has huge impacts on brain chemistry, and most certainly results in altered states of consciousness. In the broad sense I agree with the OP that diet is a tool which should be used in one's spiritual quest. Personally, I would follow the path of the gourmand and slow food rather than fast!

However, malnutrition and fasting are used in all kinds of spiritual societies to help induce altered states of consciousness, trances, and therefore communication with 'the other".

Somebody just gave me a piece of Marti Grass pastry. I didn't get the baby though . If you get the baby, you get 40 days good luck! That would count as enlightening food, I think.

That sounds a lot like the Epiphany cake. I've never heard of it being done before lent.

BTW, it's Mardi Gras (literally "Tuesday Fat")

Never tried 'em myself, of course. Food is illegal.
Shrooms are trip some people should take. Notice I said some.

This is a spirit inside.

It's called 'life' & it's in MANY things.

Starving or fasting people have MANY 'visions'.

Really much of what people is
different ways to deal with unanswered questions
and lack of food.

Eat and have enough energy to find answers and then
we end up with a peace in which art and sport can flourish.

it is easy to over-focus on food but food is a magical potion for being ALIVE and functional.
Honor ALL food and eat healthfully

yay!
