But they aren't offering any opposing argument. They just wrap their religion in a new blanket and try and pass it off as something else.

An alternate theory to evolution to me would be the idea of cosmic seeding. Something that has at least some basis in science.

He hit the nail on the head when he said it's about humans having a spark of the divine versus being a puddle of mud struck by lightening. It's not only the science that's being debated, but the philosophical which makes it so much more worthy of questioning and debate.
Hi to all - I've missed being here.
The problem with the spark of the divine is that it pre-assumes the existence of the divine without tangible proof.

Evolutionists can't do all the science because no one has figured out time-travel. Evolution is not something like gravity... it takes billions of years. It is complex and takes place on many levels. Which doesn't mean evolution has not been proven. It just means it will take more time to figure out every single little iota.

The reason we have the debate is because when there is any room for doubt, people will doubt. Especially people who want to doubt and are given reason to doubt by those who want them to doubt.

Since you mention Gravity...scientists dont even have it figured out. There are all kinds of mathematical and quantum theories including it being some weird force leaking over from another dimension into ours....

That doesnt mean that a viable alternative is that a giant invisible hand of god is holding us all down to the ground because he doesnt want us to see into heaven.

If people find out their religion is a crock of shit, that Zeus is not actually responsible for lightning bolts, the religion will go out of business. No more money for 'God'.

There is no real debate among any serious scientists. It all comes from quasi-scientists (a.k.a. Christians), who are afraid of foreclosure. Not to mention the individuals who have lived their entire lives in a virtual fantasy world. It is difficult to learn, after 50 years, that your over-arching perception of reality is drastically false. Most people have difficulty taking a beginner-level philosophy class, even if no religion discussions take place.

Ben Stein's always been extreme right wing on economics, so this isn't any surprise to me.

I don't think she's faking. She has that weird light in her eyes. She's a true Zealot. I honestly don't think satan would claim that crazy bitch either.

Hi to all - I've missed being here.
Chemicals can indeed ooze together and be self catalyzing. It's just a matter of getting the timing and the conditions correctly.
EDIT:
Lol, funny trailer. I especially love the part where he mentions that creationists would not be harassed by speaking their views in the age of Galileo... Got that right!
