Expelled

The Creationists produce a new move and Ben Stein drops way down in my estimation. I hope he's kidding...but I am not amused.

I've always enjoyed his ultra serious routine. Perhaps he is making fun of creationists, like Ann Coulter makes fun of concervatives. One can only hope.

If Stein's being truthful, I can sort of see where he's coming from. It does seem like anyone with an opposing idea to Darwinism is labled a crack pot and shunned. Why not review the written articles then make an assessment instead of just throwing all opposing ideas out the window?

But this is the great scam the Creationists would have you believe. That the creationists are being shunned because they don't accept evolution. That isn't the problem. The problem is that they aren't offering any kind of reasonable scientific theory. What they are offering is Christianity. Creationists have a position that they want accepted as science, but they want it accepted on "faith". They can't do the science required. Period. It is no different than one claiming the earth is flat because it was created that way, and that's my theory and I'm sticking to it... regardless of evidence to the contrary. It's not the scientists who refuse to review, discuss and assess opposing ideas, it is the creationists. Case in point, I give you Eman.

The reason people can't accept evolution is universally religious. You will find the list of atheists and agnostics who do not accept evolution to be very short indeed.

Guess we will find out what happens when it comes out. Maybe like Al Gore's movie, An Inconvenient Truth.

I think that's because they don't want to have to deal with a God. Evolutionists can't do all the science either, or we wouldn't be having this debate. I watched the trailer and admit I look forward to it. Accepting that chemicals can ooze together and create life, like throwing ABC and D together randomly, and discarding the scientific facts that catalysts and enzymes are needed in a step-by-step ordered, intelligent process, like A + B, then AB + C, etc., is taking evolution by faith. He hit the nail on the head when he said it's about humans having a spark of the divine versus being a puddle of mud struck by lightening. It's not only the science that's being debated, but the philosophical which makes it so much more worthy of questioning and debate.
Hi to all - I've missed being here.

I have always wondered about Coulter myself....how much of a chance do you think there is that she's faking it?
