I think it's more of a logical conclusion based on the parables given in the bible that some ignore. Looking at what 'Tic brought up in my "So What Is..." thread regarding the hardest "parameters," if you will, of being "like" JC, one has to know their own sin. There's also a line about the kingdom being within, or so I thought. Maybe Comics knows it.

On the old board, I mentioned both "sides" were right and wrong (atheist/xtianity). Atheist being right to look for some answers outside themselves but wrong in thinking science will answer everything (like the more philosophical question of why we're here - buncha walking water balloons in a mudfest? ). Xtians being right to know their spiritual side but wrong in that there is a judgment (there's only cause and effect ).

Plus there's that whole "god" only talked to people 2,000 years ago and then left the dining room. Unlikely.

And Comics found it for me! It's:

Luke 17:21 (King James Version)
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Sounds like a little self-exploring is in order to me.

I'm half Native-American. You wouldn't know to look at me, but it tends to make body hair non-existent.

I have 4 or 5 hairs you could peruse.

Half Native-American...are you originally from Texas then?

Are they at least gathered in your "cleavage"?

People are only religious because their brains have been physically altered. This is what happens when you read one of the books. Try the Koran, and find the repetition. This repetition grows things in your brain, which is pleasurable. If, while reading, you don't do anything to stop your brain from being changed, after reading the whole book, you will have a drastically different brain-complex. This complex not only controls your life, it also makes it so anything to the contrary is severely painful (because the complex is so large, and so connected to so many other things, mass-deterioration occurs). This, of course, leads to what we know as delusion - fighting the pain of deterioration by simply not accepting what causes the deterioration.

You can put anything in your brain - fact or fiction. Both are equally pleasurable to grow and equally painful to deteriorate.

To better advance humanity? Teach people this particular 'pleasure/pain/fear' aspect of brain science, which explains the way religions 'brainwash', clearly displaying the bad aspects of religion (and society in general), allowing us to easily remove the cancerous agents.
