too so true!

We had to live with a catholic lady for a year.
I had never experienced it before.
All of her thoughts were weird and soak in horror and guilt.
Her life was not bad but her religion filled her mind with usless stuff that made her life more difficult.
It made me scared all the time.

So , in trying to define god, I came up with this list for first measuring:

god is either

1. every thing in the universe
2. out side the universe
3. only the matter in the universe
4. only that which animates said matter
5. something else

I had an apartment once in a house with an old lady and her brother who were devout Catholics. He wasn't so bad but this old lady (I'd guess she was 75) got up and walked 3 blocks to mass every morning. She was very feeble and needed a cane but walked through ice and snow and rain.
She said it was something she had to do. HAD to do.

She was probably unable to be aware that she was lonely.

I was amazed that god HATED it if I took my winter hat off in church.
KEEP WOOL, TWO LAYER HAT ON OR GO TO HELL!~

Catholism is a disease. These poor people cannot help it if they cannoy stop drinking cats once they start. It's not their fault.

You are very cool.
It seems that you still cling to an over-arching, brain-bearer as leader, yes?
I never actually told her I thought she'd done a horrible job raising her children; it was just my thought, and a fact. Being the eldest has always had its responsibilities even when I was 1,000 miles away.

As Carlin said the other night religion should have one rule: hats optional.
Catholic men can't wear a hat but women have to. Jews say the man has to wear a hat but the women can't.
Check out the pope's hat. What kind of idiot came up with that one?

That, alone, is enough to prove insanity!

I hope that he looks in the mirror one day and has a clear moment of
what a fool he is

So, this definition of God is: an answer for all that we can't answer and is male, yes?
You're welcome!

And sorry I'm a week late in answering, but I've encountered a problem last saturday morning, passed out in my hallway, hit my head on the wall hard enough to make my brain bleed and swell, spent almost a week in hospital, am still none the wiser, as to what happened.

I was raised catholic, so yeah, god was male, the way they tought me. Now...I believe in none of it, lost my religion...as it were.

Now and until my life is over, I will just stay close to mother earth, nature and quit trying to figure out, what it's all about.

Keeping it simple and down to earth, that is my motto from now on!

(((Hugs)))
